Super Connector Learning to Own His Influence – David Homan (Ep. 67)
What happens when one of the most connected people in the room doesn’t see himself as powerful?
Today on The Fairy BOSSmother Show, I met with David Homan, a super connector known for bringing together celebrities, billionaires, and influential leaders. David’s humility is one of his greatest strengths, but it also stops him from fully recognizing the value of what he has built and the unique experiences only he can create.
Can I help David step into his influence without losing the humility that makes people trust him in the first place?
Let’s meet David Homan.

Before the Fairy BOSSmother
Before the show, David spoke about connection the same way most people speak about friendship. There was no sense of ego attached to it, the desire to impress, nor the need to establish his credibility through proximity to powerful individuals.
In many ways, that humility is exactly why people trust him.
What became clear, however, is that David has become so focused on creating value for others that he rarely stops to consider the value he brings simply by being himself. His instinct is always to connect person A to person B, introduce someone to a new opportunity, or create a relationship that benefits everyone involved. He sees himself as a bridge.
What he doesn’t fully see is that the bridge itself has value.
During the show
As we spoke, I noticed that every time the conversation moved toward David’s influence, he instinctively redirected the attention back toward the people he serves. That is admirable, but is also limiting. I had to show him that influence is not the same thing as ego.
David has spent years building trust, creating relationships, and developing access to rooms that most people will never enter. He treats that access as a responsibility rather than an achievement, which is one of the reasons people respect him. The turning point in our conversation came when we stopped talking about introductions and started talking about experiences.
What if David wasn’t constantly giving away the connection? What if people had the opportunity to experience the connector? What if instead of introducing everyone to someone else, he occasionally invited people into his world?
Whether that looks like a private gathering, a dinner, a tea ceremony, or simply a more intentional space for conversation, the shift is significant.
The value is not only who David knows. The value is what happens when people spend time with David.
After the show
By the end of the conversation, David did not need to become louder, more self-promotional, or less humble. In fact, that would have undermined everything that makes him effective.
What changed was the recognition that humility and influence are not opposites. The most powerful people are often the ones who don’t need to announce their power, but they still need to own it.
David’s next chapter is not about collecting more connections. It is about creating experiences that allow people to benefit from the wisdom, relationships, perspective, and generosity he has spent years cultivating.
Because at a certain level, the greatest gift is not access to your network. It is access to you.
