She survived narcissistic abuse, but her story was nowhere - Christy Mirabello (Ep. 31)
Today on The Fairy BOSSmother Show, I met with Christy Mirabello, a narcissistic abuse recovery coach who describes herself as a sparkly, unicorn-loving mama helping women find their light again.
But here’s the thing: Christy’s story was buried. Her website was all glitter and glow, and not a single mention of what she actually survived. She never introduced herself. She never talked about her past, and she never explained why she’s uniquely qualified to lead women out of the dark.
Instead, she kept it safe, and by doing that, she kept her clients at a distance.
On the show, we talked about how she could own her story without glorifying the abuser, restructure her services to stop overgiving, and finally become the safe, powerful mirror her clients have been looking for.
Do you think I can help Christy reflect her truth without reopening her wounds?
Let’s meet Christy Mirabello.

Before the Fairy BOSSmother
Christy Mirabello is warm, radiant, and full of positive energy, but something felt off. She called herself a narcissistic abuse recovery coach… Yet not once did she share the story behind it without making it sound like a blimp in her history. The problem is that, the fact she based her business on helping other women recover from narcissistic abuse, she was already disconnecting from potential clients who desperately needed her. Just gentle vibes and sparkly optimism wasn’t enough for her to be taken seriously.
And her services gave everything away up front with one session which meant that clients had no reason to return to her. Because Christy wasn’t structuring her brand or her business to retain them, her business felt unstable and unsustainable. She wasn’t owning her power.
She was protecting herself from the story she needed to tell without re-opening wounds.
During the show
On the show, we cracked her story wide open.
We talked about how to share her story without reliving the trauma, and why her light wasn’t landing because she never showed the dark she’d crawled out of. Christy finally saw that by hiding her truth, she was also hiding from her clients and creating distance from the women who needed to see themselves in her mirror.
I rebuilt her message to be honest, grounded, and powerful. I reframed her narrative from “sparkle and sunshine” to “I’ve been in the dark. I can help you find the light, too.” I also tackled her offer structure.
Christy was over-delivering from day one, but now she’s learned how to create an intentional path that nurtures, supports, and retains her clients across multiple stages of their healing journey.
After the show
Christy is no longer afraid of her story.
She now understands how to be vulnerable without being raw, and how to take ownership of her power without ever naming the abuser or giving away her power to them. She’s rewriting her messaging to reflect the truth behind her brand: Not a coach who’s “always been fine”, but a guide who’s walked through hell and lived to tell the tale.
She’s building resonance, restructuring her business, and she’s reflecting the woman her clients need to see, not the perfect version, but the real one.
Christy’s glow isn’t just sparkles now, she’s earned light and she’s now the light her clients need to lead them away from trauma.
