The Brand Photographer Who’s Afraid to Be Seen - Heidi Young (Ep. 36)

Today on The Fairy BOSSmother Show, I met with brand photographer Heidi Young, a woman who helps everyone else show up boldly… but freezes when it’s her turn.

Every time someone gives her feedback, she pulls all the way back to level one, deletes her work, rethinks her voice, and hides her own power behind the camera.

But if she keeps listening to everyone else, she’s never going to hear herself.

Can I help Heidi stop shrinking and finally step into the spotlight she built for everyone but herself?

Let’s meet Heidi Young.

Before the Fairy BOSSmother

Heidi and I worked together over a year ago to reclaim her personal brand and confidence. Heidi is the kind of woman who makes other people look incredible. She knows light, angles, energy, all of it. But when it comes to her own visibility, she’s paralyzed by other people’s opinions.

If someone says her posts feel “too much,” she disappears. If someone gives her feedback, she deletes the whole strategy. Every time she’s on the edge of breaking through, she retreats to safety.

Her biggest problem isn’t lack of skill. It’s fear of being misunderstood.

During the show

The moment I sat down with Heidi, I could feel how much she was holding back. Everything she said was filtered: careful, cautious, pre-approved by imaginary critics.

So I told her the truth: if she wants to find her voice again, she has to get loud. She needs to go all the way to the other side, the Jim Carrey in The Mask side, to see what it actually feels like to be fully seen.

Because she’s not being too much. She’s being half of herself.

After the show

By the end of the show, something cracked open inside Heidi. She started to realize that the people whose opinions she fears aren’t the ones paying her bills, or shaping her future.

She doesn’t need permission to be seen. She just needs practice.

Now, she’s learning what power actually feels like raw, unfiltered, sometimes messy, but finally hers.
