Author and Writing Coach Defining Her Brand – Jenny Misener (Ep. 55)

What happens when an author who helps other people write books realizes her brand was sitting right under her nose?

Today on The Fairy BOSSmother Show, I met with Jenny Misener, a children’s author, ghostwriter, and coach who helps aspiring authors finally get their books out into the world.

Her work as an author is muddied by all the other side projects she’s taken on, and as a result, she’s losing focus on her identity.

Can I help Jenny lock into her zone of genius and pull out the brand that supports her bigger purpose?

Let’s meet Jenny Misener.

If you want me to review your personal brand (deeper, in private, and without the cameras), you can book a Personal Brand Audit. The link is below.

Jenny works with aspiring authors who have a message, an idea, or even a partially written manuscript and need guidance to finally turn it into a finished book.

But like many talented entrepreneurs, Jenny’s work has grown in several different directions over time. Writing children’s books, ghostwriting for clients, and coaching aspiring authors are all pieces of what she does.

The real question was whether those pieces were being held together by one clear identity.

Before the Fairy BOSSmother

Before our conversation began, Jenny was doing meaningful work across several areas. She had already established herself as a children’s author and had built a reputation for helping other people work through the complex process of writing a book.

Yet when someone does many things well, a new challenge often appears. Instead of strengthening the brand, multiple directions can begin to blur the identity behind the work.

Jenny had the experience. She had the knowledge. She had the passion for helping people tell their stories, but the brand that could bring all of those elements together had not yet been clearly defined.

In other words, the answer was already present. It simply hadn’t been fully claimed.

During the show

As Jenny and I explored her work, the conversation quickly moved beyond the list of services she provides: children’s author, ghostwriter, and coach for aspiring writers.

Each role represented something real and valuable, yet taken separately they didn’t fully express the deeper purpose driving her work. Jenny didn’t realize that she already had a brand she created but wasn’t fully utilizing it for all of her projects. This one brand was the perfect fit to her public identity crisis.

Once we began focusing on that deeper purpose, the questions became clearer.

What name should she stand behind?

What identity should anchor the brand?

Which services support that identity, and which ones simply create distraction?

These are the same questions many entrepreneurs wrestle with when their work evolves faster than their brand.

By the end of the conversation, the answers were no longer scattered. They began to form a clear picture of the brand that had been sitting right under her nose all along.

After the show

By the end of the episode, Jenny had done something many entrepreneurs struggle to do for years. She simplified.

Instead of trying to hold several different identities at once, she was able to redefine who she is, what she does, and who she does it for using a brand name she already had.

The children’s books, the ghostwriting, and the coaching all make sense when they are connected to a single purpose. Once that purpose becomes clear, the brand becomes easier to understand, not just for the audience, but for the entrepreneur as well.

Clarity doesn’t come from doing less work but from understanding which work belongs under your identity and which work pulls you away from it.

For Jenny, the answers were there all along. This conversation simply helped bring them to the surface.

Want a brand breakthrough like this?

You’ve just watched me help complete strangers realign their identity and step into the version of themselves they already knew was there.

Now it’s your turn.

The Personal Brand Audit is where I personally review your website, your social media, and your online presence privately and honestly. No cameras. No performance. No pressure.

I’ll show you where your brand is diluted, where you’re underselling yourself, and where the million-dollar version of you is already visible but not fully owned.

If this episode resonated, it’s probably because you know there’s more of you that isn’t being seen yet.

Are you ready?
